Did pretty well yesterday :)

Going to the shake club in a bit to have a shake and gear up for a meeting with 2 potential distributors, praying it goes well!

Then home to work out, shower, have lunch and get ready for work 3:30-9..

New Day, new Plan.

Breakfast

10am

  • Chocolate banana shake (225)

12:30pm

  • Another shake at the club (200-250) not sure which kind yet

2pm

  • Meet with a client for product info and training

3pm

  • Chobani 0% Blueberry with 1/4 of kashi for a crunch (200)

6:30pm 

  • Dinner with one of my friends (*drool*)
  • steak (250)
  • mashed cauliflower (50)
  • grilled asparagus (50)

9pm

  • Probably a frozen shake or protein bar (180)

For the day is just over 1200.. and eating so frequently should keep me from snacking.. here we go!

Here’s another photo to illustrate my point. In the red dress (124 pounds), I had to subsist on a  VERY low-carb, low calorie diet to maintain (50 grams of carbs or less, 1100-1300 calories a day). The minute I’d eat ANYTHING out with friends- be it a piece of cake, some Mexican with some friends, some chips and dip- I’d retain so much water that it’d cause me to gain a few pounds of water weight and bloat over night. I was also too weak to make much progress in my lifts, because I was eating too little. I’d cry when I gained any bit of weight or water weight, and I’d let whatever number the scale said set the tone of my day.
Let’s look at the picture on the right. In January, an old knee injury started to flare up again, causing me to halt my weightlifting progress briefly. As soon as I wasn’t active, though, my food habits slipped. It was the worst thing in the world at the time, but now I’ve learned- this is the way I’d like to live! I eat mostly by intution now. If I’m hungry, I eat, and who cares if I’m going to bed in two hours? I don’t think of things in calories or carbs, but just try my best to not over-indulge too much or too often in things like pizza or chips. I still eat my healthy stuff, but it’s a balance of things.
Guess what? Five months of eating this way, and my weight hasn’t budged past 132-134. I feel healthier these days, I’m able to enjoy life a little better, and I’m actually able to have more energy to perform better in the gym. No, I’m not super-skinny, but that’s the point of this! We get so freakin’ focused on numbers and silly beauty ideals- “I NEED to be 120 pounds, I NEED to be a size two, I NEED to not have my thighs touch”- that we forget we’re make pretty high demands on our body and emotional health here. Quit chasing perfection, quit trying to become so much skinnier than you actually are, and just worry about your health. Too much restriction is as bad for you as too little moderation. Instead, aim for a life of balance. :)

New Beginning (Again)

Just got a call from the summer camp I worked at the past 4 summers and I might be working there again!!! That means more $$ in my pocket, more of a tan ;) 

And getting paid to pretty much work out ;)

Q:hi im 19, 5'7, and weigh 220 pounds, i was wondering if you could give advice on how to lose weight? and talk to me about how you have ?

First off, you’re beautiful,  know that before you start any of this.  I am always here for advice :)  

I lost my first 40 by cutting out fast food, cutting portions in half and working at a summer camp running around with kids all day.

I lost my most recent 50 with herbalife, 2 shakes, 1 meal 2-3 healthy snacks with light walks and basic strength training.

I found when I set an eating schedule (every 2-3 hours) I would stick to it because it worked and I never found myself hungry.  

It really also helped to track my work outs and food, and set work out plans.. I used NOOM at first (Android app) then moved to MyFitnessPal when I got closer to my goal and heard so many good things.  

With the tumblr fitblr community there is so much support, anything is possible :)

I am a 21 year old psych major working part time.
I've always struggled with my weight until I was dragged into an herbalife nutrition club. I started on September 9th, started this on October 3rd. This is my Journey. Will post pictures as well as recipes :D

I started this journey 195 pounds, I started this blog at about 182.
I weigh in every Wednesday and my goal is to lose 2 pounds a week. :)
